This is another group  picture at Mother Russia.   From L. to R.  Vascily (the driver who by the way is a great driver), Sister Nechiporova, Sister Potter, Elder Potter, Sister Demina, Sister Davis, Sister Price, Elder Davis, and Elder Price.
This is part of the changing of the guard at the memorial building with the eternal flame.   They stand one hour and then are replaced.   Pretty impressive.   All visitors are very respectful.
This photo was taken several blocks away from the monument.   As you come into the city you can see the monument and she truly cries out to you.   Mother Russia is taller than the Statue of Liberty.
President and Sister Nechiporov shared information with us about this memorial which is just below Mother Russia.  We were there for the changing of the guard.   On the wall there are four thousand plus names on the wall.   Many thousand died in the battle of Volgograd.   The Russian soldiers are high stepping and very serious at this memorial.   Thanks to the President we were able to have our wonderful conference.
Now you see Mother Russia in the winter.   We sent a picture of this monument in the Fall.   She is amazing no matter what season you view her.   She is a great symbol of protection!   All Mothers should be so strong.  Can you imagine how the soldiers felt in the battles that took place here in the winter which was well below zero.   Both Russians and Germans suffered greatly.   It makes you sad to feel the sorrow of the war.
This is a group of picture of the senior missionaries in the Rostov Mission.  From L. to R.  Sister Demina,Sister Davis and right behind her Elder Davis, Sister Price and right behind her Elder Price (out of view), Sister Nielson, Elder Nielson, Sister Potter, Elder Potter, Sister Nechiporova.   We traveled to Volgograd and it was a wonderful conference.   The Nielsons planned the meetings and the FOOD!  Everything was great and we came away feeling full spiritually and physically.   It was cold but beautiful.   This photo was taken at the Mother Russia statue.  Yea for all of the missionaries young and old!
